iPhone Duo Repair

iPhone Duo Repair · Denver

Duo.

Go ahead — fold it. It can take it.

Apple's first foldable. Two displays, a titanium hinge of more than a hundred parts, and a brand-new kind of repair — which is exactly the kind we love.

Star White Night Sky
Two displays · one pocket

Closed, it's a passport. Open, it's the biggest iPhone ever.

Apple's own comparison: shut, the Duo is about the size of a passport. Unfold it and you're holding the largest display ever put on an iPhone.

Anatomy

The hinge is the product. So we studied it first.

On the bench

A new kind of phone. A considered kind of repair.

What's different

Foldables fail in ways flat phones can't.

  • The inner panel is polymer, not glass — it must never meet a pry tool, a fingernail, or pocket grit.
  • The hinge is a mechanism, with 100-plus parts that sand and lint love to find.
  • Two batteries act as one — up to 31 hours of video on the inner display, 44 on the outer.
  • Two displays, two assemblies — the outer screen is its own part, and the one that meets pavement first.
How we approach it

Methodical, honest, unhurried.

  • Hinge first — inspected and cleaned before any repair is quoted; stiffness is often grit, not damage.
  • Panels as separate assemblies — outer and inner quoted independently, never bundled by guesswork.
  • Batteries as a matched pair — serviced together, the way they were designed.
  • Back glass by fiber laser — our process is ready the day Star White and Night Sky glass exists.

01

Honest diagnostics

Hinge feel off, display acting up, dropped it on day two? We find the real fault and tell you plainly what the fix involves and when parts allow it.

02

Free port cleaning

Lint causes half of all charging complaints, foldable or not. Two minutes, no charge, no appointment.

03

Water & dust triage

IP68 helps, but a hinge is still a hinge. Sand, grit or a dunk — bring it in fast and we'll assess before damage spreads.

04

Data transfer & recovery

Moving to a Duo, or rescuing one that won't power on — our data lab handles both.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Do you repair the iPhone Duo yet?
The Duo ships October 23. From day one we'll take it in for diagnostics, port cleaning, water and dust triage, and data work. Display, hinge and battery replacements depend on parts supply, which doesn't exist until after launch — call ahead and we'll confirm what's possible this week.
Why is the pricing TBD?
Because the phone isn't out yet, and first-generation foldable parts are a first-generation supply chain for everyone. We post real numbers when we can source quality parts at a stable cost — the same honest tiers as every other iPhone we fix.
Is the inner folding screen fragile?
It's engineered for daily use — a scratch-resistant coating over a custom polymer cover layer. But polymer isn't glass: keep fingernails, pens and pocket grit away from it, and never press hard on the crease. Treat it like the precision surface it is and it'll serve you well.
Can you fix just the outer screen?
Yes, as parts allow — the 5.4-inch outer display is its own assembly, and it's the one that typically meets the ground first. It's quoted separately from the inner display.
My hinge feels stiff or gritty — is that a repair?
Often it's a cleaning. Sand and pocket lint are the enemies of any hinge, and a 100-part mechanism is no exception. Inspection and cleaning come first; a real repair is quoted only if the mechanism itself is damaged.
Should I just go to Apple?
For a brand-new phone under warranty or AppleCare, sometimes yes — and we'll tell you when that's the smarter move. For out-of-warranty damage and anything Apple won't touch, an independent shop with 15 years on Apple hardware is usually faster and kinder to your wallet.
Where's the rest of the lineup?
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have their own page, and every earlier generation is fully priced from the iPhone repair hub.
